The Words You Use Determine The Size of Your Audience and Your Competition

There are at least six popular categories of words in the "Fulfillment Industry"

Even though there maybe 30 to 40 keywords used in URLs, Page Titles, and Meta Descriptions, they can be narrowed.

1> Fulfillment
2> Supply Chain Solutions
3> Logistics
4> Pick and Pack, Kiting,
5> Warehousing, shipping,
6> Software, Consultants,
Internet Marketing

Aside
from the battle in the bricks and mortar world, the internet battle is fought differently.

Fulfillment is the most commonly used word by websites and visitors. The use of the key word is complicated by the fact that other industries use it as well, so left on its own, a search result could have a varied number of industries.

When made more specific by including "product, order, literature, or services," the field becomes a littler narrower. Only a handful of websites use their fulfillment words in a way that optimizes their sites, so most companies have less than potential traffic.

Supply Chain Solutions gets a tremendous amount of global traffic and the top four or five sites are excellent. Even the fourth place site gets 10,000 hits a month, so it is an excellent category for business. If you are going to be in this arena, your site has to be excellent and you need to augment with back links which could come from attaching to authority sites or social media.

The balance of the words listed above are not as heavily traveled although there are a few important categories like "literature, kiting and pack and ship". These are the third most prevalentcategory of words and services that handle products. Even if there is less traffic, top page ranking can create exponential returns.

Warehousing and shipping are crucial to the industry and have specific users. Unless one is specifically in the warehousing and shipping business, optimizing a site with these words leaves a lot of desired traffic on the table.

The consulting, software, and internet industry involved with fulfillment are crucial and their internet descriptions are often difficult to distinguish between product handlers and fulfillment advisers. It adds to a lot of confusion and I am not sure it serves.

Even though many businesses have loyal traffic gained over 60 years of business existence, the internet phenomena can help newer arrivals gain market share by being prominently available to the newer businesses and executives looking for fulfillment services.
